Dear Parents and Carers

We are writing to update you on the reduced provision, for a limited number of children, which we may be able to provide for critical workers during the closure.

As you may be aware the list of critical/key worker categories released by the Government is extensive, but we would urge families to consider if it is vital for your child to be in school during the closure. As a country we need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.

Critical workers are identified as parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response. Many parents working in these critical sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. The highest priority will be for families where both parents are critical workers or where a sole parent is a critical worker.

Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be. This is an offer to parents and carers who need this reduced provision. There is no requirement to send your child to school if you do not need or wish to do so.  If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be. If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a critical worker, then we will try our very best to make provision for them.

As a school we will have to prioritise based on our reduced staffing and the provision we have available. We will currently plan for the next two weeks and will then review. We initially plan to open for normal school hours 9 – 3.30pm, to those pupils who are offered.

If you feel you meet the criteria above, and you would like to request possible provision, even on a flexible basis, then please complete the survey below by 3pm today. We will then look to prioritise based on priority and staffing as described above. We will make contact with all families that we are able to offer this reduced provision for form Monday, but will unfortunately not be able to respond to all parents. If you do not receive confirmation, you should keep your child at home. We will make contact by 8pm tonight.

Thank you for your continued support.
