Did you know?

Office Support

Thank you to everyone for their support in reducing the queries by phone that can be answered by visiting the website or by sending an email. It has been really noticed and appreciated by the staff in the office.

Please remember to include your child’s full name and class in all correspondence to support the office in dealing with your query or instruction effectively.

We continue to receive regular communication from residents and families about the poor and unsafe parking of families. Please be considerate of others for the safety of the children.

COMING SOON! Christmas Shopping Day

Every year we arrange a shopping day for children to give £1 and in return select a gift for that special someone. Each child will have their gift wrapped and labelled ready to take home. It’s a really special event!

However we need to amass nearly 800 presents suitable for all ages and sexes! Quite a feat.

To do this we will be asking for:

  • Shopping Day donations on Friday 6th December so please start putting things aside now.
  • £1 donations for each child. We will be taking donations w/c 2nd December and on Monday 9th December, and online payments will also be available soon for extra convenience at http://www.pta-events.co.uk/woodcoteptfa
  • Lots of helpers! We need gift sorters on Friday 6th but mainly Wrappers for Monday 9th December (mostly am, we will run two shopping rooms). If you can help please contact us on volunteer@woodcoteptfa.org.uk

As promoted to parents earlier this year we have changed when and how we will deliver parent/teacher interviews this academic year based on the feedback from the parent survey in the Summer 2019.

Interviews will take place in the second week of the Spring Term. This will allow teachers to have reviewed your child’s work and assessments at the end of the Autumn Term and share these with you in the meeting. We hope families will find this more informative and supportive.

Parent interviews will take place on:

Tues 14th January             4.00 – 7.00      Classrooms

Thurs 16th January             3.40 – 6.20      Classrooms

These sessions are an opportunity for parents and teachers to review children’s progress and discuss targets.

The time available for each consultation is 10 minutes.  If you feel that more time is needed, a further appointment can be arranged with your child’s teacher.

Children in KS2 should attend with their parent/carer, to take part in the discussion and review their personal targets.

To book an appointment you will need to access our online booking system. This system will allow you to book a time that is convenient to you and will allow you to book appointments across teachers/classes if you have more than one child.

You can book appointments through the Woodcote Primary School App (which can be found in your App store) and then go to Key Links.

Alternatively you can book by going to https://woodcoteprimary.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

If you do have any problems please contact baldock@woodcoteprimary.croydon.sch.uk

We do hope you will be able to attend and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Votes for schools

This week we discussed the following question in our Votes for Schools Assemblies.

This week’s question was… “Do you think it is possible to reduce bullying in your school?”

A copy of this week’s presentation can be found on the school website. You will also find attached to this memo the New Weekly Parent Bulletin to support discussions at home.

Next week will be holding our cross year group pupil voice sessions, and will be asking the children there views on how we improve attendance and punctuality.

We welcome boys and girls and currently have a few places available as our young people move on to the next Section.  We meet in the Scout Hut at St. Mark’s Church, Church Road, Purley, CR8 3QQ.
