Parent/Carer WhatsApp Groups
We would like to remind parents/carers that if you have a concern or query you should raise this directly with the school. This can be done by email, phone or in person. We are receiving feedback that some Whatsapp groups are being used to discuss school concerns and members of staff. We would like to refer families to the attached statement which all local schools have worked on together.
Don’t forget to book your appointment if you have not already done so. https://woodcoteprimary.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/
After School Club Phone Extension
We would like to inform families that in an emergency After School Club can be contacted on the school number at Extension 210. This number can also be found on the Breakfast and After School Club page on the school website.

Thank you to the families that have completed the data check through the new online app. This was a new system to ensure your data is checked more securely than the paper copies that were previously sent home. Unfortunately, as this is a new system there have been a few teething problems, and we thank families for bearing with us. If you have not yet checked your child’s and your data, please do so asap. Any queries please email Mrs Baldock (firstname.lastname@example.org)

COMING SOON! Christmas Shopping Day (see attached poster)
Every year we arrange a shopping day for children to give £1 and in return select a gift for that special someone. Each child will have their gift wrapped and labelled ready to take home. It’s a really special event!
However, we need to amass nearly 800 presents suitable for all ages and sexes! Quite a feat. To do this we will be asking for:
- Shopping Day donations on Friday 6th December so please start putting things aside now.
- £1 donations for each child. We will be taking donations w/c 2nd December and on Monday 9th December, and online payments will also be available soon for extra convenience at http://www.pta-events.co.uk/woodcoteptfa
- Lots of helpers! We need gift sorters on Friday 6th but mainly Wrappers for Monday 9th December (mostly am, we will run two shopping rooms). If you can help please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Netball Results Update
Our enthusiastic A and B Netball teams played an away match against Keston Primary School on 13th November, but sadly lost:
A Team – 11 – 3 B Team – 8 – 2
Oakwood School visited Woodcote on 20th November to play both A and B teams, but unfortunately our teams were unable to beat them:
A team – 10 – 1 B team – 11 – 2
Plenty more opportunities are coming to secure a win, so watch this space.
Please support the office staff by maintaining contact with the school every day that your child is sick. This is school policy and if you can inform us it means the office do not have to chase you.
In addition, can we please remind families of the 48-hour rule, with children not returning to school within 48 hours following vomiting or other upset stomach problems.
Thank you for your support in advance.
Cross Country News
Members of years 3 and 4 took place in a South London Harriers’ Cross-Country event at the weekend. All pupils ran well and, more importantly, enjoyed themselves. Larissa was our best placed girl, coming 22nd and three of our boys achieved top twenty places: Josh 10th, Alex 13th and Oliver 18th! Well done to all who competed!
We hope to enter the next race on January 18th. Contact Mrs Day if your child in year 3 and 4 ) is interested in competing.
Mrs Day is still waiting for the final results of the Croydon Schools’ Cross-Country event held last month. However, she was delighted with the enthusiasm and energy of our year 1 – 4 children who competed, despite the exceptionally muddy conditions!
